What is Britney Spears net worth? How much money does she earn?

Pop star Britney Spears was back in the news in a major way in 2021 after a tell-all documentary exposed her story 13 years of guardianship which has just ended. Spears’ father, Jamie, had been in control of her personal and financial affairs since 2008, paying himself and other fees out of Britney’s earnings.

By 2002, she was one of the most successful musicians and most recognizable people in the world, having enjoyed a string of four number one platinum albums. His sold-out world tours have earned him tens of millions of dollars and Forbes named her as the most powerful celebrity in the world, with an annual revenue of 40 million dollars.

However, despite the massive success, in 2022 Forbes lists Britney Spears net worth toward $60 million; a very respectable total but far from the real big famous players.

Guardianship saw Britney’s dad in charge of finances

After a very public meltdown in 2007, Britney Spears was placed in a court-ordered conservatorship which named Jamie as responsible for her financial affairs. It was apparently a measure to help the singer, but over the last year more details have emerged regarding the benefits Jamie has derived from the situation.

In 2021, The New York Times reported that Jamie Spears was receiving a salary worth “approximately $16,000 per month, plus $2,000 per month for office rent” of the guardianship. He also received part of the profits from Britney’s tours which she continued to do for years after she was first placed under conservatorship.

Time reports, “In 2014, he received 1.5% of gross performance and merchandising revenue from his Las Vegas residency, ‘Piece of Me,’ which continued to earn a $138 million report through nearly 250 shows.

Jamie Spears reportedly scored around $6 million during a 13-year conservatorship, before stepping down in August 2021. In recent years, the singer had begun to battle father control, and a court ruled last year that the conservative ship should come to an end.

“Guardianship of the person and estate of Britney Jean Spears is no longer required,” Judge Brenda Penny said in her decision last November. “Guardianship is hereby terminated.
